Our new collection Evanescence came into bloom as a serendipitous collaboration with Astha Patel, a visual artist, whose vision and aesthetic we tried to capture onto our clothes. Patel is a definitive force in the art scene, having notably worked with the likes of Tate Collective, Student’s Biennale at Kochi Muziris Biennale, and esteemed Indian art organizations like Anant Art and Space Studio in Vadodara. Having graduated with the coveted ERASMUS scholarship, Patel defines her art as neither belonging to the present, past or future, a timeless tradition rooted in an uncomfortable optimism. Known for infusing her art with a lucid quality that mirrors an extraterrestrial colour palette, Patel has left her impression, right from Valencia to Vadodara.
There’s an intriguing etherealness that characterizes Astha's pieces of art, a dreamlike disposition that captures memories as they melt away. Blending the essence of animated landscapes and the vibrant palette of dreamy escapes with an ethos of ecology is what makes her style so endearing.
